Building the Foundation: Middle School Through High School
The years between sixth and twelfth grade are when habits form, beliefs solidify, and futures take shape. Our school-based programs give students the tools to navigate this critical window with purpose.
The move from middle school to high school is not just a change of building. It is a shift in expectations, relationships, and personal identity. Students who are not prepared for that shift often struggle with authority, attendance, and behavior before they ever understand why.
At Leadership Development Resources, we start working with students before that transition happens. Our middle school programming focuses on the foundational skills that determine how a student will handle the increased responsibility, social complexity, and academic pressure that high school brings. We do not wait for problems to appear. We build the skills that prevent them.
What We Address in Middle School
Middle school is where we lay the groundwork. Students learn who they are, how they communicate, how they present themselves, and how to make choices that align with their goals. These are not abstract concepts, they are taught through structured lessons, group activities, and one-on-one coaching.
Character Development
Integrity, accountability, and personal responsibility, taught through honest self-reflection and real consequences

High School: Adding Career Skills to the Foundation
As students enter high school, we build on what was established in middle school and add the practical career-readiness skills that prepare them for what comes next. This includes resume writing, career exploration, job shadowing, interview practice, and postsecondary planning.
Not every student has a traditional path in front of them. Some will go to college. Others will pursue trade or technical programs. Some will enter the workforce directly. Our goal is to make sure every student leaves high school with a plan they believe in, and the skills to execute it.

School-based support is one part of what we do. Once students age out of the K-12 system, we continue walking alongside them through young adulthood. Explore our services for youth and young adults up to age twenty-five.

Middle school to high school is one important stage in a longer journey. We stay engaged through graduation, through the first job, through the setbacks. Every student we serve has the potential to lead — and we are committed to making sure the system they are in does not determine whether they reach it.
