Empowering teens and young adults with specialized training, professional skills, and recognized credentials for successful career entry
At Leadership Development Resources, we understand that teens and young adults transitioning from programs like the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and foster care systems face unique challenges as they prepare to enter the workforce. These individuals often navigate complex circumstances that require specialized support, understanding, and targeted intervention strategies.
Our dedicated services are designed to support these teens and young adults during this pivotal moment in their lives. We focus on teaching essential skills that are crucial for workplace success, including character development, self-awareness, socialization skills, and leadership strategies. With these tools, participants gain the confidence and competency needed to successfully transition into sustainable careers.
Building Professional Competencies for Career Success
Understanding that entering the workforce requires a different mindset and skill set, we equip participants with the professional competencies necessary for long-term career success. We emphasize the importance of workplace professionalism, making positive choices, and developing the maturity needed to thrive in professional environments. Our aim is to shift their perspective, ensuring they understand this is not just a job search, but a foundation for their future career path.
These services are available to teens and young adults on Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, offering a comprehensive two-hour class each week over the course of 14 weeks. This schedule is specifically designed to accommodate the unique needs of teens and young adults in transition, providing them with accessible, structured learning opportunities that fit within their existing commitments and responsibilities.

LDR Legacy Builders
For Young Men 18+ Ready to Build a New Future
Hey, if you’re a young man 18 and up who’s been through the grind, maybe jail time, probation, or just life hitting hard, this is your spot. At Leadership Development Resources, our LDR Legacy Builders group is all about real change. No judgment, just straight-up support to help you turn things around, build skills, and create a legacy you’re proud of.
We meet once a week at the local library, easy to get to, no excuses. We’ve helped hundreds of youth and young adults like you with leadership training, career prep, communication skills, and job placement. Now we’re focusing on guys your age who want more, steady work, better choices, and a community that gets it.
What We Do Together:
- Weekly Library Sessions: Hands-on workshops on resumes, interviews, financial smarts, career readiness, career exploration, and handling tough situations
- Career Focus: Job shadows, employer visits (like Tampa General or local trades), and direct help finding jobs that fit your life
- Mentoring: One-on-one guidance from people who've walked your path and came out stronger
- Life Skills: Communication, conflict resolution, goal-setting, stuff that keeps you out of trouble and moving forward
- Accountability Crew: Brothers holding each other up, celebrating wins, and pushing through setbacks
Many of our guys have records or probation hurdles, but that’s not the end. We’ve seen men land jobs in healthcare, logistics, construction, breaking cycles and supporting families.
This isn’t cookie-cutter. It’s real talk, real work, real results. Spots limited. Ready to build your legacy?
